New Docip Publication : Update nº114

2019-11-20

Docip has the pleasure to share with you our last publication of this year, the nº114 of our Update.

This issue presents in its Focus section the context and consequences of the discussions around 2019 as International Year of Indigenous Languages.

In the Ongoing Processes section, you will find a first article on the process of ways to enhance indigenous peoples’ participation in the UN.This article comprises an Annex which establishes a comparative table between the first draft resolution and the resolution adopted on that matter.

A second article summarizes the discussions that are currently happening at the WIPO IGC process on indigenous traditional knowledge, traditional cultural expressions and genetic resources.

In the Latest News section, comprehensive summaries have been made on the UNPFII 18th session and EMRIP 12th session. The Regional news present news from Africa and South America – the platform Yanapaq.info will be ready in December this year.

Finally, the Docip team is being held accountable to our network by presenting the services provided to indigenous peoples this year and you can find our now traditional calendar of events to come in 2020.

I sincerely hope that you will enjoy reading this edition, and stay at your entire disposal for any further comment.
