New Docip Publication – Summary Notes on the 33th HRC session

2016-10-12

We have the pleasure to announce the latest Docip Publication, which relates to Indigenous Peoples' discussions that have been held during the 33rd session of the Human Rights Council in September 2016, in Geneva.

This Summary Notes nº 2 make a summary report of the informal negotiations held over the resolution on the renewal of the Special Rapporteur of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples mandate, the resolution on the thematic studies of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the resolution on the renewed mandate of the Expert Mechanism. It also contains a report of the annual half-day discussion on the rights of indigenous peoples with focus on violence against indigenous women, including women with disabilities, and the discussion between the Special Rapporteur and the Chair of the Expert Mechanism.

The publication of those notes is in priority for Indigenous Peoples who wish to use this information on the field or within the international fora. They are only available on their electronic version. This new service offers 2 synthesis notes and 1 Update per year. The summary notes relate the most important meetings of the UN system, while the Update aims at providing you global information on the latest news concerning Indigenous Peoples' rights on the international arena.
