Information on the 38th session of the IGC (WIPO)

Docip has the pleasure to inform you on the 38th session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC), which will be held at the headquarters of WIPO in Geneva,from December 10 - 14, 2018.

Indigenous Peoples' Preparatory Meeting

The Indigenous Peoples' Preparatory Meeting will take place on Saturday, December 8, 2018, 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and Sunday, December 9, 2018, 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM at "La Pastorale", Maison rose, 106, route de Ferney, Geneva (Bus 5 – Intercontinental stop)

There will be daily meetings of the Indigenous Peoples' Caucus (Blue Room): 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM (tbc)

 

Panel of Indigenous and Local Communities

The Panel of Indigenous and Local Communities will take place on Monday, December 10, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The theme of the panel at the Thirty-Eighth Session is: “Indigenous Peoples’ and Local Communities’ Perspectives on Gaps in the Intellectual Property Protection of Traditional Knowledge and Traditional Cultural Expressions:  Examples and Proposed Solutions”.
