United Nations Declaration for the rights of Indigenous peoples - 10 years
2017-09-13
Today, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Declaration for the rights of Indigenous peoples (UNDRIP) by the UN General Assembly! It is a day to remember the steps that have led to its adoption, achievements made so far but also the challenges to come for its implementation at the national and local levels.
Over the years, Docip has digitized more than 10 000 documents, like historic documents on the previous works for the Declaration. You can also find in our website information about the historic development that have led to the adoption of the Declaration.
Recently, we have seen in the current events that the City of Montréal (Canada) and the City of Mexico (Mexico) have adopted the UNDRIP at the local level! Do you know other cities in the world that have adopted the UNDRIP?
