This Summary presents the discussions held, in person and online, during the 16th session of the EMRIP, July 17 to 21, 2023.
To be a Docip volunteer involves putting one’s skills at the service of indigenous delegates during their participation in the UN arena.

Here we are at the end of December, and our office is closing its doors for the festive season.
In 2023, the world gradually returned to a certain normality. For Indigenous Peoples, this has meant continuing efforts to have their rights recognized, to be respected and accepted as partners and even leaders in the common struggle for the well-being of humanity, in continuation of the mission undertaken by Deskaheh Levi General in 1923. Last summer, we commemorated the centenary of this Haudenosaunee leader's visit to Geneva.
For us, 2023 was above all a year of change in our team. While we regret the departure of our dear colleagues, it is with great pride that we see them leave with a wealth of experience and knowledge gained during their time at Docip. We wish them all the best for the future. At the same time, we are delighted to have found excellent replacements, and to have been able to put together a competent and dynamic new team.
