Docip's Weekly News No. 248
2021-04-30
Dear Friend,
Today the Permanent Forum will close its very special 20th session: especially short, complicated, and physically distant this year, but also especially rich in side events. Although much was accomplished despite the challenges, the main takeaway is probably a strong urge to return to meeting in person next time.
The saddest moment of the week came when we heard of the loss of our dear brother Estebancio Castro-Diaz of the Kuna People, a respected leader of the international indigenous movement and a strong defender of his people's heritage and future. He will be greatly missed. For more about his life and work, you can watch a tribute here.
While this year's Forum is ending, the work continues. Next week the UPR will start its 38th session, also to be held virtually.
But before moving on, please take time to enjoy your weekend, plant a couple of tomato seeds and watch some ants at work in your garden.
Best wishes,
Pascal
